Does anyone have a favorite Accurate deer hunting load?
I just finished loading some Sierra 180gr. JHP with 26gr. of 2400 and some with 30gr. of 296.
I will take them out and check for accuracy and run them through the Chrony.
Sure wish I could score some of the old 225gr. HJHP bullets, but they quit making them several years ago. Thanks.

Think you are burning more powder than you need for a hundred yard shot. The 180 grain bullet in 44mag give speed and muzzle flash for sure but not better killing power on game. A 240 grain bullet with 22 or 23 grains of 2400 or 296/H110 you do you better all around I think

Therin lies the problem. I loaded some nice 240 gr. Lead SWC w/GC. They won't cycle in the action. OAL is1.650, I don't know if it's the OAL or the bullet profile. I'm really disappointed as the whole reason for buying the BB was to use a lot of my excess ammo. But it appears only short rounds will work.

I know how disappointed you are. But that OAL is too long. SAAMI Specs for that caliber should be no longer than 1.61. That small amount of length is likely causing those rounds to fail.
