Henry New Models
Dont know what you guys think but the 2 new models of Henrys I have seen dont do much for me. The Axe is now in a brass model sidegate and the Long Ranger has gone tacticool like the x models with an express model. Laminated stock threaded barrel and scope mount. Seems to be the way of the industry. If I wanted an tactical rifle Id but another AR. YMMV

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Re: Henry New Models
I think Henry is after the New wave? According to the age graph of this site, most members are 50+. Meaning, we probably will not be around to purchase new Henrys much longer. If Henry can reach the younger group, let's say in the 25-35 age group, that is a good 30-40 years of buyers for Henry. We are getting older. Yet, Henry still wants to make sells. The younger crowd did not grow up watching westerns. Most probably watched Power Rangers, Transformers and other such things, which did not use lever actions. So, Henry may be trying to appeal to the younger crowd. It will be interesting to see if my grandkids will warm up to a lever action or a revolver.

Re: Henry New Models
I actually like the new Express, the laminate color could be better but it's right up my alley with it's features. The 16.5" barrel and picatinny rail work well for me, mount a nice small 2-7 scope and be done. What kind of out of the box accuracy are people getting with the current long rangers with decent ammo?
Oh, and I'm not one of the younger crowd.

A good, successful company has to look to the future to REMAIN successful. Don't blame them for reaching out to a future market as long as they maintain what WE have all come to love.
Marketing, can make or break a company.

I agree, but as someone said earlier if I wanted a .223/5.56 rifle I’d buy an AR-15. IMHO a $1,200+ lever action .223/5.56 will go over like a fart in a church.markiver54 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 5:48 pmA good, successful company has to look to the future to REMAIN successful. I like walnut and blued steel and as far as a 410 shotgun, I would buy a pump so I could use three inch shells. One of the best things about most H.R.A. rifles is the quality of walnut that they use .
