Seems like after the last shortage 9mm price per box went up to around $12 from $9 so I hope to maybe see it at around $15 a box. At least I'd be able to do some shooting again, I have around 25 boxes of 9mm but am being very stingy about shooting it.

Thinking about following Sir Henry's lead and getting a decent air rifle. At least bb's and pellets are still cheap and I have enough room to set up a small target range.
Pellets will get hard to find if everyone goes pellets. My recommendation is to buy as many pellets for as you can afford. Pellets do go back so you can’t buy 20 years worth.

Crazy is the order of the day: Norma TAC .22LR ammo (my H001T favorite brand) is going for .30 cents per round +shipping, IF u can find it, a far cry from the .8 cents per round I was paying, delivered, just 2 years ago.

Since I have an air gun coming I will stock up on pellets, will have to stock up on CO2 cartridges also. Will be getting the adapter, seems like CO2 cost in volume is cheaper with 12g cartridges than 88g cartridges.

Curious as to how lead pellets go bad? Although I would not be buying 20 years worth, if I'm still around in 20 years I doubt I'll be doing much shooting.

They oxidize and turn to powder.

Are they not pure lead? I have some ingots we melted down from stained glass came to cast round balls, it's been sitting in a open container for over 20 years and still looks and feels fine.

Would the pellets last longer in a sealed container with some oxygen absorbers?

I've got a box of Sheridan 5mm pellets in their original plastic box. I've had them at least 20 years and they still shoot fine.

I'm happy to be able to say that we paid straight MSRP for the Bond derringer we are scheduled to pick up this coming Friday from our local gun shop .... further, MSRP for the polished 44 Spec barrel that is being shipped to us from BuckSnort Outfitters .... interestingly enough, any more paying MSRP is pretty much the same as getting a good size discount .. :?

All I know is my father-in-law had some in his garage that were not shootable. My guess is they were 50’s to 70’s vintage.

I definitely won't be around long enough for my pellets to get that old ;)

After getting back from Texas I had decided to take 3 more guns to the shop I was using to sell them. 2 of the three have sold. One of the guns I took there was a Ruger Bisley 45 Colt with the 45ACP cylinder. I think there is a couple people here who have one. Mine was stainless. It sold today for a price I would never dream of getting for a Ruger Single Action. Price 1125.00. Thats over double what I gave for it.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
