Prices of ammo are crazy now and at moment I don't see it coming back to normal. In fact I see a new normal in the future. I just can't imagine we will see prices like we did in the past.

Time will tell, but I'm sure it'll be more expensive from here on out.
Especially in this political climate.😢

While things will get better in about 8 months or so, I don’t believe that we will ever see the bargain prices we saw 2 years ago:
1K rounds of 9mm for $169; 1K of .45 acp for $259 and 5K Águila copper plated 40gr .22LR for 4 cents per round all delivered to my door by different places. By next time this year ammo will be available but expect to pay 50% to 75% more than the above mentioned prices.

Seems like after the last shortage 9mm price per box went up to around $12 from $9 so I hope to maybe see it at around $15 a box. At least I'd be able to do some shooting again, I have around 25 boxes of 9mm but am being very stingy about shooting it.

Thinking about following Sir Henry's lead and getting a decent air rifle. At least bb's and pellets are still cheap and I have enough room to set up a small target range.

You and the rest of the shooters in the country. There are indeed shortages, but if you are not at all choosy about the gun or what it shoots, you may be OK. It took me over three months to acquire my Hatsan PCP rifle last fall. MANY airguns are shown as available from gun and airgun shops, but when you try to order you find out that the gun was never on the shelf, it will be ordered from the warehouse “when available”. Or the caliber you want for that powerful PCP (.22 or .25) may be on back order but the .177 guns are on the shelf.... and prices are all over the place, but not as crazy as for firearms.

Good quality pellets (not the mainstream junk Crossman/ Gamo/ Daisy ones) are highly variable.Be wary of buying pellets from Amazon and even the big firearm sources like Midway USA. They do not package them correctly and they arrived damaged (often badly). An airgun shop like Pyramyd will pack them in dense snug fitting foam. Plus they have a buy two get one (pellet tins) offer usually. Once you do find a pellet your gun likes (they are very picky) stock up on them! About half of the 92 pellets on this page, mostly the good brands, are “Preorder”. .... https://www.pyramydair.com/a/Ammo/Airg ... ibers_0_22
