I'd like to support Gun Stock Cover with a purchase for my first Henry. Does anyone have any pics to share before I decide on a model? Thanks!

I think I am going to give the 'cowpoke' a try. Basic setup with a sling included. Looks pretty sharp.

I have the Rawhide on my Big Boy and like it.

Who knew a little flap of leather and some laces could bring so much joy?

I recently put a piece of cotton over the brass butt plate and the leather stock cover over top. You can't see the cloth but I thought it might help keep the brass from reacting to the leather. Now I'm thinking maybe saran wrap might be better. So far the brass seems ok but I don't want it turning green!

I haven't taken mine off since I installed it. But I have noticed that some shells left in the loops tarnished pretty quick in there. I'm kinda afraid to look at the butt plate. Oh well Henry has more of them I'm sure.

Rip it off like a band aid and take a look! Let us know how it looks.

May clean right up with Brasso.

I'm pretty sure it would clean up. But I'll protect it best I can.

Possibly the paste wax you've applied has helped to protect it. That would be good. I hope you'll let us know how it looks.

There is also a piece of closed cell foam between it and the butt plate. No intention of pulling it off anytime soon. Like I said these are current guns and if need be when the time comes I'll just replace it if it gets messed up and doesn't clean.

For what it's worth every time my Big Boy goes to the range I get nice comments on both the gun and the stock cover.

I actually peeked under the cover today. What I could see of the brass butt plate looked nice and shiny. I didn't see any green stuff.

I think the chrome tanned leather has problems but vegetable tanned does not.
