knowing fully well just how powerful and capable Henry's lines of 45-70's are, I continue to be surprised at the apparent demand that is sufficient to foster a steady increase in their number of offerings .... the new X outlined in the link is very interesting

I know folks tastes differ, and that's a good thing. But I just can't get into the "X" thing. Guess I'm just old school ( actually, just old.)
To me, it just don't look "Henry ".

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I really wanted an X when I bought my 357 Big Boy but was too impatient to wait so bought the walnut beauty. Next up on my list is to replace the Win. M/94 30-30 with a Henry. So, if I can exercise a little patience here I can get both my X itch and my 30-30 itch scratched with one purchase. Love having the Winnie that was my Dads but I need to scope my rifles and that’s a pain with the Winchester. It’s going to my nephew who has been accumulating a nice variety of firearms and I know he will appreciate it as he was pretty close with my Dad, his Granddad. Patience Grasshopper, patience. :D

I’m a bit late to this party, but the new All Weather .45-70 is taking up the slack Marlins sale to Ruger has left. The new picatinny model is 100% based of the 1895 SBL. That’s a great thing in my books. Henry needs to make a Trapper length gun too. In .30-30 and .357 and .44 mag would be my lineup of choice.

I only own 1 rifle made with stainless steel and a synthetic stock .... its a Remington 700 chambered for 30-06 .... I bought it as a hunter to be used in wet weather .... during good weather I preferred to hunt with a Browning BLR or Remington 700 BDL that both have blued metal and wood stocks .... I've come to look at the All Weather Henry rifles in the same way .... since I haven't hunted in years and don't go to ranges in the rain I'm happy with our BBS 357 & 44 and CCH 45-70 .... if I still hunted, I'd want an All Weather Henry .... caliber would be determined by where/what I was hunting
