The 24" barrel version comes with a full choke tube that can be interchanged with others.JEBar wrote:I wonder if the barrel of a Henry 410 is designed so it can be retrofitted for choke tubes ?blbolin wrote:I found my lever action .410's just don't have much practical range with the 2 and 1/2 inch shells and improved cylinder bore. They both though really shoot slugs great, maybe the Henry will also.
Site seems to be working OK.

I am not particularly interested in one of these, but I am curious as to how you can put a plug in it to limit the capacity to three shells? Does it come with two different magazine tubes?

Re: Henry lever action 410
Tom from Henry told me in an email that the .410 would be a smooth bore and take 3" shells. If it is 2.5" shells I am not interested.
Update: received a follow up email from Tom @ Henry and the only .410 shotgun that will be capable of 3" shells is the single shot version all others will be 2.5" shells.

I had heard about the three inch first and then the truth about the lever 410. Sorry but nothing to see here.
Re: Henry lever action 410
Take a look at the ballistics of a 410 slug. The .327 Big Boy will do a better job.

Re: Henry lever action 410
thanks for following up with accurate info, that made my decision even easier .... a 410 was not near the top of my wish list but with it not being chambered for 3" shells, it is off the list .... that makes it easy to move onGeoBoy wrote:Tom from Henry told me in an email that the .410 would be a smooth bore and take 3" shells. Guess it is back to .357/38 with a red dot on it for fast target acquisition. Just have to decide weather I want the 16.5" or 20" barrel. All weather finish or blued.

That would be a tough decision for me too.
