The Fleet Farm store down in Green Bay sent me an email with a coupon for 10% off. HMMM....I wondered ....would that work on the .44 magnum X-model that was listed at $919.00....??

Yes. I deer hunt with it. Got a Leupold Lightweight 2 1/2 power scope on an EGW rail. It's a perfect little treestand rifle for woods hunting where it's unlikely to ever get off a second shot anyway. But....it has really nice wood and I'm always nervous about raising and lowering it with a rope because of the possibility of clanging it against the ladder or something. I even fashioned a case with a hole to accomodate the front swivel for raising and lower. Can we say OCD?
But the X model .44 was purchased to be a working gun. I'll try to take care of it but not obsess over scratches or dings. Hoping to get to the range this weekend. This rifles cycles like butter with OAL of cartidges at 1.60" but some of my handloads with cast bullets such as 255 gr. Lyman SWC GC's or 250 gr. Keith SWC's are too long. They have to be single loaded BUT.... the same bullets cycle perfectly in .44 special brass.

To be continued...
