Loading Gate Problem 1860 Henry Replica
Loading Gate Problem 1860 Henry Replica
When trying to reload my Henry the loading gate hits the small screw (the one that keeps the follower captivated when the gate is open) on the side of the barrel and stops it from opening. I can unscrew it a turn and half and it works okay. It should be screwed in flush. Not sure what caused it to not work properly. Any suggestions on what's going on with it is appreciated.

Re: Loading Gate Problem
I don't have a Henry with a loading gate. But, I think that you are referring to a set screw? If so, I suspect that it is adjustable. Yet, I would probably contact Henry for confirmation.
PS. In your intro, you stated that you have a 44-40. Is that the Henry you are referring to? If so, I did not see a loading gate in the diagram of a H011.

Re: Loading Gate Problem
My rifle is an 1860 Henry replica. No side loading gate. Loads from the magazine under the barrel.

Don't know. I think a couple of people on this forum may have a similar model, which may be able to provide some insight. Yet, Henry may be the best option.
