A Henry Semi-Auto?

Post by ditto1958 » Thu Feb 02, 2023 1:45 pm

I saw an ad today from Henry, and the guy was holding a semi-auto carbine. When is that coming and what caliber(s) will it be in?

Henry introduce this at this years Shot Show in Vegas. It's a 9mm that takes Glock magazines (and a couple others). It will probably be a month or 2 before this starts shipping out to retailers.

There is a big announcement being released tomorrow. It's a 9mm that will have its own cartridge and you can add your own cartridge adapter for glock, smith and wesson or sig cartridges I believe. I am so looking forward to owning one of these.

I like that carbine and if they make one in .45 ACP I would get one.

I actually saw one today at a near by Gun Shop in Indiana. It was a very nice looking rifle. They had two of them - just arrived today. It resembled the Ruger 10-22 in length and the salesperson said Henry would soon be making the same rifle in .22 rimfire (Don't know where he got his information).
I was actually looking for a Henry .22 carbine (H001L). They had two of those also but now they have one less. Per Illinois gun law, I have to wait 3 days before I can pick it up.

If the 9mm sells, I'd expect Henry to build a complete line of semi-auto's for all of their usual lever action calibers. Just like they did for the side gate when that was introduced. Don't know if I'd like a semi-auto .45-70 tho.

I doubt I'll ever buy Henry semi, however. Getting too old to be spending money on more guns. Got too many already, and if I need another battle rifle there will be plenty of them laying around in the dirt for the taking. :D

Shop in in Columbia had one in stock today, it's a cool rifle. But I went to look at a 357 side gate carbine , it sold before I got to it

I have been looking on line for the Henry 9mm since its release a week ago, no one has any. I'm on a few waiting lists, but I would have thought they would be everywhere by now. :x

I see Gun Broker has about 20 or so listed now. One of the listings showed a serial number in the 1100's so if they started at number one they have apparently made a few already. I'll wait until I've handled one to decide but will be on the lookout.

One thing I wonder about...the majority of my shooting is with cast bullets. Does this creature have gas plumbing/porting or whatever that could be gummed up by running lead through it??

Reading the description, I am lead to believe it's simple non-gassed cycling in nature.
