Blue Loctite

Post by geezerjohn » Sun Sep 26, 2021 6:56 pm

Received my Comet 30-30 muzzle brake and want to install it and go shooting. (FINALLY got some ammo for my new purchase:)
The instructions say to use Blue Loctite, and hand tighten.

SHOULD I DE-GREASE BEFORE USING THE LOCTITE?
Never used it before for this particular function.

FWIW - the Comet device fits great, looks great, and unlike a previous version I returned, it in no way blocks the magazine rod for mass unloading! Reviews state a minimum 25% reduction in recoil with flash dispersal as well.

TIA

Loctite primer would be the best but anything that cleans degreases and doesn’t leave residue behind should work

Geezer, keep in mind that you'll have to clean the old stuff off the threads and put new stuff on every time you take the can off to clean it. It's not hard to do, but easy to forget.
