Black inner magazine tubes
What would you guys think if Henry started to make and offer black inner magazine tubes instead of brass / brass color?
I think it would be a great idea, I don't mind the brass inner magazine tube at all but all black to match the barrel and magazine would be a nice option.
I will say the contrast of the brass tube against the black magazine is a Henry thing and still looks good, but a black one would just offer something different.

Options are always good in my opinion. Might seem insignificant to some but could be a selling point for someone else. Might sell more Henry's...

Re: Black inner magazine tubes
I had previously considered blackening the tube in the area of the loading slot.( From being a loading gate fan of Winchester and marlin ) just to disguise the tube loading look. But after owning the Big boy Steel .44 mag. for a while it kind of grew on me. I realized its not a Winchester or a Marlin but a fine quality American made firearm called a Henry! I'm still middle of the road on the look of the tube, but there is no question of the functionality of it. Henry's ease of loading and unloading, lack of cross bolt safety, fine quality wood and steel, exceptional workmanship and customer service, it has become the rifle I take to the range every time. So I guess I'll take it as it came brass and all.

tx gunrunner, thanks for the link, do you have any pictures of your tube? How dark does the tube get and is it durable?

interesting idea .... if it had of come from the factory with a black rod, that would have been fine ... now that I've gotten used to the look of the brass rod, it looks natural and I like it

NO............... been 40 years since I use that stuff and I used it on hunting muzzle loader with brass furniture to get knock the shine down . When I build them now with steel furniture and rust them like in the pic for hunting guns . .PMC wrote:tx gunrunner, thanks for the link, do you have any pictures of your tube? My Henry's are all the Brass versions. I like the brass tube as well. I actually shined mine up in the area that shows!
What can I say I'm a sucker for polished brass. If I was younger I'd probably make some steam punk contraptions!

I like the brass tube. But to be honest I hadn't really thought about it.
