Second trip with the single shots

Post by Ed T » Sun May 24, 2020 6:43 pm

My son Luke and I took his .357 SS to the range. It is his second trip with it and he got it sighted in. Adjusting the rear sight was a little frustrating, but we got there. He was consistently banging the 100 yard gong by the end of the session with both the .38 loads and the .357 loads.

We sure like these rifles. Now I need to sneak away and get as comfortable with my .30-30.

Nice job Ed and son. I have a step daughter in Naches and my mother is buried in Walla Walla. I was born on the west side in Bellingham. Sister lives in Covington. To many people on the west side for me now. But I still come to visit.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I grew up on the east side and enjoyed the west side for about 1 year after I left the Army at Ft. Lewis. Then the people got to me and I came back to the east side of the state.

Both of my oldest kids have moved over there as it is interesting to a younger crowd I suppose.

JEBar,

He seems to adjust his aim for drop and windage fairly easily. I think that is part of why it was difficult to set the sights. He would adjust point of aim without telling me. Finally, I reviewed what were trying to do and he got it.

congrats on his training .... your son's ability to apply Kentucky windage and elevation speaks well of his understanding of ballistics .... once you lock it down and properly adjust the sights, he should really do well
