OK finally got it out to the range happy with the way it shoot. But it does have a small problem. As I am a little guy 6 foot five 250 pounds length of pull 16.5 inches organs are slightly small so I use a recoil pad slip on to add the length it I’m used to it so it works. But my rifle did come missing a screw Henry’s sent me one overnight. When I went to them about the new problem they told me to read drill the sling mount in the front but if I break the forearm I would have to buy a new one. Really no help so I fixed it myself I know longer have the sling mount chewing on my fingers. Love this rifle. And I hope spellcheck doesn’t change it to raNg time.

.
Ouch on that last picture? Filling the hole and adding a tube clamp - good solution.

Ouch! Your modification looks like it worked out OK, though. As I think about it, some single shots do come with a barrel band as original equipment, Ruger #1-A, for example. So not only did you solve the swivel stud bite problem, you made an upgrade

. I'll leave mine alone, though, since I'm short

.

I'm pretty gangly, myself. I haven't shot mine yet, so thanks for the head's up. I did notice they're a little 'sharp' looking, compared to the typical more rounded style...

No not till several shots later.since then I have put another 100 rounds through it mild to wild I don’t think a 45-120 is going to work to short of a barrel. So I am thinking 45-90 but is it worthwhile to Change it recoil is not the problem as I am using only black powder in it.

45-90 is a neat round. But 80gr of 2fg black packs a pretty good punch. No way of knowing if its worth it or not. How far are you shooting. Ive shot 45-70 with black and it does a good job.

well normal shots 100 to 150 yards. but every once in awhile i do like to shoot at the 500 yard gong. i can usually hit it 3out of 5 times. but i would love to shoot regularly at 200 yards just for fun,
Re: 4570 single shot H015 now 45-90

well tried everything paper patched ,bullet set forward ,black powder, 39.4 grains of imr 4198 shot best. so i went ahead and reamed it to 45-90. 85 to 90 grains of black powder, 29.0 to 39.0 of 5744 500 grain fnlead ,the imr 4198 hits harder than eaither black or5744. 40 rounds of 45-90 in the h015 and 50 rounds of imr4198 in my marlin 1895gbl all to day shoulder feels fine. in the stock there is a hole it,s near 4 inch deep .866 wide 2.8 long i put a small bag that i made in there and filled it with # 9 shot . with scope it came out to 10.2 pounds.a real joy to shoot.will post photos tomarrow. thank you all for your coments.
