I used the 45-70 single shot a couple of times this year. It's nice to carry, short in length, a very handy rifle. And if you get bored on the stand, you can admire the wood. I sighted it in using Hornady 250 grain Monoflex cartridges, which grouped at about 1 1/2 inch, 2 inches high, at 100 yards. Then I took an antlerless deer today at about 20 yards. It definitely worked, in my sample of one
