Spelling was wrong meant nosler ballistic tip the ones u told me about. Used 64 grains of h335. Scope set up to 300 yards very accurate load shot 5 deer with this load so far and only 1 ran 25 yards others down where they stood.

10-4 .... Nosler's Ballistic Tips are extremely accurate and hit hard .... don't recall if I mentioned Shooter's Pro Shop ====> http://www.shootersproshop.com/ to you or not .... they sell Nolser's Overruns and Blemished bullets .... the Blems have truly minor cosmetic flaws that have no impact on their performance .... I have no hesitation in using when big game hunting .... they have excellent prices ....

I would like to hear more about your shot with the 45/70 @ 200 yds. How much hold over did it require? Other than Hornady, I'm not too familiar with other bullets / loads to make a 45/70 reach out that far. Good shootin, to fill the freezer!

based on firing Nosler 300 gr Ballistic Silvertips from our CCH Henry 45-70 .... we generate about a muzzle velocity of +/- 2300 fps .... per our ballistics calculator, if sighted in for 300 yards:

out to 50 yards hold the crosshairs a little below where you want the bullet to hit

75 to 250 yards hold the crosshairs on the bottom of the deer's belly

275 to 300 yards hold a little below or dead on

at this muzzle it takes about a half second for the Nosler 300 gr Ballistic Silvertip to travel 300 yards and would still be traveling +/- 1200 fps and delivering +/- 950 ft lbs of energy

it is a very capable round

I shoot an Nikon 3x9x40 scope and worked it for 100,150,200,250and 300yards. It is very accurate had to work on it a while at range on my club after 1st season but got it done . These 300gr loads so far have total pass through on my deer. There is always blood and gore where deer was standing so trailing is easy but only had 1 go 25 yards others dropped in tracks or only ran 10 to 15 yards. JE bar told me about these bullets 3 yrs ago.also scope has a BCD reticle on it
