I take a pair with me usually. The latest in the hunting pack are a pair of Bushnell 8x40 medium binos on clearance at Walmart. They are all I need for hunting. I have another pair I recently got that are even smaller and I'm really liking them. More to come.

when hunting over large fields I carry the "vintage" pair of Jason Empire Model 108 GlassesOn 10X50 wide angle binoculars shown below .... their design making them easy to use without the need to remove my glasses was the main reason I chose them .... while a quick search shows tons of Jason binoculars for sale at fairly low prices, I haven't found another pair like ours .... the lenses are clear and offer very good magnification .... the biggest negative is they are bulky

How about this little Simmons 8 power monocular. Light and compact. Carry around my neck or in a pocket.Image

I have a pair of Japan made Nikon Action 10x50 that I use in ground hog season and deer season. My wife has a pair of Alpen 7X she uses on the back porch to watch the deer in the evenings that usually stay out there most of the year so she doesn't have to look for them. I just looked at a pair of Sightron at my LGS that were fantastic clarity but I can't remember if the were 10X or 12X. I may end up with a pair of the Sightron.
