Large loop lever for a BBS

Post by Gibsonaj » Tue Jan 10, 2017 2:13 pm

Hi there,
I just recently acquired a 44 mag BBS. I'm thinking about installing a large loop lever. I'm sure someone here has done the same. It appears to be pretty easy as field strip and swapping the lever. Am I missing something ? Any specific step buy step or photos would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Les

This might help. It's not a BBS, but the method should be the same.

Should be fairly easy.

I suggest you consider installing (if needed) a shim kit at the same time .... see this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2zTeUP3XwA

Henry has an excellent set of rifle maint videos on their website.

I used it earlier this year to do a complete field strip for my BB steel. Also used another to swap out to the large loop lever on my H001.

Just follow the videos and you will be fine. If you do a complete tear down on you BB, watch on ahead a little when reassembling. I spent about 20 minutes tearing mine back down and trying to figure out how to get the trigger pivot screw, IIRC, to engage the threads. When I restarted the video, he proceeded to explain how to get the screw to engage, if you have issues. I think you just wiggle the trigger, or lever and it will fall right into place.

I put a large loop on my BB 45. It was simple ( my wife could even do it) Glad I did it, works well for me.

There's a potential Geico commercial in there.
