Have not had enough variety to pick a favorite, but the one I still have and rarely use on occasion is an 8' Ugly Stick with an old Garcia Cardinal 753 Spincast. Caught many fish on many different line weights.

Favorite spinning rod is a St. Croix Avid 7’6” in medium/light with a Shimano CI4 reel. Most used buggy whip is an older Pfleuger 9’ and an Allen reel. Creek and stream fishing for smallies.

Whichever is in my hand at the moment. It used to be an Eagle Claw 7' spinning rod with a old Eagle Claw spin cast with 8lb Stren line. Could catch any fish anywhere!

The first Ultralight rig I saw was a St. Croix rod, sporting an Alcedo Micron reel. It was like fishing jewelry.

I don’t fish much anymore but at one time was pretty serious about it. My favorite rod is very old school, a Fenwick FS-53 which was my first ultra lite rod. I still have it but it’s buried out in the shop so I didn’t take a picture of it. It has a Mitchell reel on it, either a 300 or a 304, can’t remember which. I loved bending that rod in half with average sized fish. Back in the day my cousin and I used to go to a local lake (Loon lake) and night fish for Kokanne (AKA Silvers). These were a three year cycle fish and when we got into the three year olds it was rod bending action. Kokanne have a very soft bite and those ultra lite rods were perfect for detecting the nibble. Still just a fiberglass rod so as mentioned, very old school.

This is an interesting fly rod. It supposedly belonged to my great grandmother who lived in Missoula Montana and was a very passionate fisher person. It’s a bamboo rod with three different tips. I did some research a few years ago and I don’t remember any specifics but there was only some very limited info available. I do remember not getting too excited to list it on eBay so there must not have been any big value to it.

Interesting, the canvas case has an Army tag on it, not sure if it’s original or not.

nice, very nice indeed .... for me, its market value would be irrelevant .... with that rod being passed down from my great grandmother it would be priceless

My favorite rod is the one I'm fishing with, I have spinning, bait cast and fly rods of different lengths and weights. The one I have in my hands is my favorite at that time :)

Gimme a cane pole and some hungry fish and that'll work, when it comes right down to it! :D

Nice! If by chance it has "Andrew Flyrod" on it, My Grandpa made it. Those were hard to come by tho. Regardless, glad you still use that old pole.
