Thanks, we’re enjoying it a bunch. Didn’t realize you were so close, Kettle Falls is only about an hour north of my home. I haven’t been on the water much north of the Evans area but I understand it gets pretty rough beyond Northport. Lots of fly fishing guides run that area from float tubes. That would be interesting to boat down across the border, wonder how that would work.
A Bimini top sure helps and I like the sport top this boat has. Nice to be able to snap it to the windshield in crappy weather. We just spent nearly a week in the Fort Spokane area where the Spokane river enters the Columbia. Caught several fish including a 19” beauty my wife landed. We’re pretty new at this type of fishing with all the “stuff” on the boat. In a couple of weeks we’re heading up to Sullivan Lake and plan to fish for the Kokanee in there. Small fish at 8-9” and this time of the year they will be deep. Probably going to be more of a downrigger learning trip than landing fish but we’ll see. So far the two times I have attempted to use the downriggers I haven’t had much success. Last week I set the release too light and had a release with no fish so set it heavier. Which was too heavy as I hooked a fish and it didn’t release. Didn’t know until I brought it up. Fortunately it was a keeper as I doubt it would have survived being drug around the lake for a bit.
Here’s some pics from our Fort Spokane trip. We’re having a blast figuring all this stuff out.
