kayak Fishing

We love fishing from our kayaks. It's been a while since we packed up and moved. We haven't had the yaks out and fished. I have been looking thru the pics... man you see some beautiful things, and since you aren't blasting thru the water 100 mph, you have time to enjoy them. Thought I'd share the views. Feel free to add yours. Too many BAD news stories these days. :D

When the sun is setting, you always want to get in one last cast.

Drift in the cove in the kayak, you don't scare away the sleeping residents.

I always like reflection pics. I thought this one would make a great 5000 piece jigsaw puzzle. It's the spillway at Bear Creek Lake State Park.

Sunsets are also a favorite subject

Thank-you so much for those wonderful pics. Very peaceful and serene, much needed these days. Back in the day, we used to do a lot of fly fishing from float tubes on small ponds and lakes. Not as mobile as canoe or kayak, but much the same kind of approach.

I take a lot of pics, I have THOUSANDS.... I love to look back at our times.... :D

Like this one. Drove to Destin, where we had rented a house for the Thanksgiving week. Took to Hobies to fish Destin Bridge.

Fishing sucked, but we played with two pods of Dolphins who seemed fascinated by the pedal drive system of the Hobies. They kept swimming under the kayaks to check it out. They would zoom in full speed, and led us around the area for some time, then, at a command from the leader, shot under the bridge and were GONE!

We even night fished the Concrete Ships at Christmas at Kiptopeake... beautiful. We were hoping to hook a couple of the giant stripers. Then it started to snow, hard. Always an adventure.

As I have said, I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret. I look forward to the things I still can...

That is so cool about the dolphins.

We live on a secluded lake and paddle up the stream that feeds it. The stream and much of our lake is surrounded by impassable bog and marshes, so almost a wilderness setting. Here's hubby paddling his kayak up the stream. This stream has some amazing largemouth and northern fishing, with an occasional smallie, too.

I prefer a solo canoe to a kayak. Here's a pic of the stream from the canoe.

Nothing as sweet or exotic. Have enjoyed finding catfish in the holes. I’ve given up on the yak, may be too unbalanced. Lol. Story of my life.

I really enjoyed the pictures, thanks for posting them .... they are of a type I'll never see first hand .... my preference in boats, bikes and other such conveyances is such that if I can't turn a key or pull a rope and hear a rumble, I don't go .. ;)

We do catch fish... big uns. This was at a farm pond in VA. Three gates, four pastures and ford a creek, but worth the trip.

Sometimes, you have to know how to relax when fishing.
