Years ago, my BIL raced the offshore cicuit and was sponsored by Mercruiser. He broke what was the speed record back then on Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana.
He ran the unlimited class. Boat name ' Miss Maxon ' ( a 37 ' Catamaran ). Competed against 'Popeyes' owned and driven by Al Copeland, ( founder of Popeyes' chicken. Al has since passed.
Sorry...just thought I'd throw that in. The thread brought back memories.

can't say I'm shocked .... on UTube and other sources we've seen some boats with 4 of them

Loved boats as a kid and still do but Colorado isnt a place to own one. To many people and not enough water for all the boats. If I still lived in the PNW Id have a boat and no RV

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

we still own a boat but neither of us has been in it for several years .... our kids use the heck out of it .... when the time comes that we can't travel like we do now, we are considering parking our camper on water of some type and getting another boat

I've spent most of my money on my wife, guns, and boats...the rest I've just wasted.

My wife and I spend 10 years being boat owners, the first six mooring on Lake Coeur d’alene just across the border in Idaho. The next four years were with a trailer boat and after we bought a pickup camper to use with the boat we found we had so much fun with the camper we sold it and the boat and bought a travel trailer. Back then I used to run around the lake and watch “old men” drive their pontoon boats around and made constant disparaging remarks about those “old man” boats. Hmmmmmm now I’m thinking they look pretty cool and I would love to have one. What happened?

My wife and I spend a lot of time on the Upper Mississippi River on our Sea Ray 300 Sundancer cruiser. At 20 + years of boating lifestyle, we have watched pontoon boats morph from "canbotes" to high performance luxury go-fast "tooners" with stereo systems that rival concert sound. We frequently see tooners with high performance I/O's and twin outboards that are at speeds compared to the sleek performance hull boats. With the new propulsion options available, the family day-boat has changed immensely, and so has the price tag!

My wife and I spent 45 years navigating the tidal waters of the CT River, Long Island Sound, Fisher's Island Sound, and Gardner's Bay in a variety of boats, including three SeaRay's with Mercury I/O engines. All of our boats were named St Ann, which is a combination of our names: Stan and Ann and, not having children, we spent many happy hours in and on the water. We sold our last boat shortly after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. These are precious memories for me now. God! I miss her.

Sea Ray made a gorgeous boat. Maybe still do.
