-45 trout fishing trip

Post by Greyhawk » Sat Feb 06, 2021 6:08 pm

Well it was -20 this morning with 20 mile an hour winds. (-45 wind chill) Perfect day to walk a mile out to an old mine pit and go trout fishing! Needless to say my son, his friend and I had the lake to ourselves most of the day!
Slow fishing, but my son landed a beauty! Not supposed to get above 0 Fahrenheit for the next ten days here.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Good for you, Greyhawk. We're over here in the neighboring Wisconsin north woods. Same cold, this week. Might not break zero, tomorrow. I did a little snowshoeing and even a little fat biking, today. Us north woods folks don't hibernate during the winter.

 I remember listening to Paul Harvey one time and he said people in the Dakotas really didn’t like living there, they just couldn’t get their cars started to leave.

haven't heard if the ice on Lake Poinsett in east-central SD has gotten thick enough to support ice fishing or not .... a few weeks ago a fellow and his grandson fell through, both died ....

With below 0 temps I would think it would be getting thicker
