Frontier first impressions and first shots at range

I picked up my New Frontier on Wednesday at the Local gun smith, which has a listed FFL dealer license with Buds gun shop, which makes things convenient. I have purchased about 5 guns from them past year alone. Always good fast service. I was a little apprehensive about the Frontier, as the only Rifles I had seen in local shops were Golden Boy's, and they really did not fit me personally the way I would have liked, so threw the dice and got the Frontier Octagon barrel. After I opened the box at the store and shouldered it, I knew right away it was made for my particular body style. It really felt natural. LOP was perfect and aiming through the Buck horn sight was perfect for me. I grew up shooting through a lot of these sights and they feel very natural.
Fit and finish were as described, Nice wood, nice Bluing, Even the Black Painted aluminum receiver was nicely done. Better than I had expected.
The rifle had one heck of a nice smooth action, or should I say SUPER SMOOTH. Trigger pull was also a lot better than I expected. Smooth and light. I'm guessing around 3-4 lb pull. I like the front sight with the gold bead, but found the bead to not as bright as I would have liked. No problem. I placed just a dab of Testors floresent orange and Bingo! A dramatic improvement. I have used a number of different products over the years to paint sights. But testors is strong durable, and brighter than most. and the cost is less.
Range time:
First shot was a sign from the heavens! I went down to the local range 10 minutes from my house, loaded up the rifle and set a target 30' away. My fist shot felt great. But something appeared wrong. I could not see where the bullet landed on the target! I thought I had completely missed it. I brought the target back up to the stall for a closer look. I had actually scored a dead center bulls eye on my very first shot. Wow! I took this as a good omen! I was using Remington Golden boys and they continued to perform flawlessly and fantastic groups through the session. I purposely took Golden Boys with me as they are one of my favorite ammo's for 22. I have a good stock of CCI mini mags as well as other brands, but was so happy to see the GB's do so well. It is a Hy velocity ammo, only slightly less accurate than CCI but cost so much less and I like to shoot a lot.
So to sum up: The Henry Frontier exceed all expectations. I have not had the chance to do long range shooting yet, but have no doubts it will preform. I believe Henry makes a seriously accurate barrel.
I have ordered the Skinner sights, but kind of wished I had waited as I seem to be enjoying and doing well with the buck horn. This is really a nice 22,cal. Hope to get the 357 in the future. It is going to be one heck of a fun Rifle that will give years of pleasure.
