Range open?

Working on the garden this morning I could hear shooting at the local range which is a couple miles away, sounded like the traps were open. I know the Governor has not officially opened gun ranges yet. After about and hour it got quiet. I am suspecting one of the neighbors called it in.

I'm taking my Hi Point .45 ACP Carbine out tomorrow since it hasn't been fired in a while.
As long as I can find my key the place is open!

CT still has a full statewide shutdown, however gun and ammo stores are considered essential businesses and are open; not so with shooting ranges. The last time I went shooting was in the Fall of '19.

I want to buy a .357 short barrel revolver, but won't unless I can take it to a range. It's been said that if you pray for patience, you're often tested to prove that you received it.

Hang in there CT...the sun will shine again!

That is a good question RR. Is part of the problem the closed border between Canada and the US?

No, change in import/export rules and a new agency on the US side handling the licensing. Supposedly shipments will be moving again soon.

Ours hasn't shut down, even with everything else forced to close down. The local sheriffs department is a huge supporter of the range and as long as there were no complaints from the neighbors (and there were none) and everyone social distanced we were able to stay open. We are pretty lucky here I guess!

Here in Washington State where our governor is keeping almost everything shutdown our local private gun range has opened with conditions as well as our state DNR parcels of which we have two locally that are good for shooting. Yippee. Unfortunately my F Class match’s are still TBD but our 600 yard practice is opening with every other firing position closed.
