Fantastic morning to get out and try my new Tombstone clay target setup. The plan was to hit the clay targets from 30 yds. and hopefully
the wire holders would remain to be loaded again with fresh target clays.

Brought my pair of Henrys along and had the famous 180 gr. Pug loads for the .357 Big Boy and my standard 240 gr MP SWC load for the .44 Mag Carbine. Both rifle have my new Ghost Ring rear sight mod. and it works great!

After 3 rounds of shooting a couple of the wire hangers survived but they are very easy to make and will make some spares to keep with the target.

Continued on after the video with two more rounds of clay action and looks to be a fun setup to plink on.
Shot some steel also to wrap up the session. That sun was bright and hot and had to cover up the rifles and ammo to keep the heat off!

I like it! Heading into garage and look in' for stuff to make something like that forty. Fun, simple idea. I'll need a cold beer for the search!

Well I cheated and watched film at 245 my time. I know it was fun. I like shooting those clays myself but Im to lazy to make all those wire holders I just throw mine up there on the ditch bank and pound away.

If I don't find anything(hard to believe!), I'll probably wind up like Al here. Put them on a berm and blast. Still have a few search beers!

we do use holders as can be seen in the first couple of pictures ..... most of the time, we set'um up on a bank as can be seen in the second couple of pictures with the Wiz breaking the skeet with a Henry 357 and then pulverizing the larger pieces ...

Ain't that what they were made for!? Oh, yeah; that shotgun thing. Silly me!

I’ve never been that good with the shotgun. Although JIM and Evan may disagree.

Making those hangers is another rainy day project and with the rain we get every couple days I might have a barn full soon!

But yet another range project is in the works.
