New toy

Post by tx gunrunner » Tue Jun 21, 2016 6:05 pm

My neighbors cut some trees down and removed some brush . I seen this fork in the pile brush and I think it will make a pretty nice catapult when it drys out which won't take long in this Tx sun . I put this together fast temporary to see if I would like and I like it ..

Whatever your age or whichever decade we're talking about, you're cool TGR! I love your work and your sense of fun!

I'm always checking the forecast for "flying flaming boulders" just in case TGR has built a trebuchet in his back yard...

I cut the band tie grooves , sanded it and put some clear on it . This is the natural color no stain . I shot it yesterday before painting and this is the way I designed it and the way I will hold it to shoot .

It is a good shooter and is one going to be my favorite one . I've shot over 200 rds in it before I paint it to get a feel of it and make any adjustment to the wood if needed . It is not a true OTT catapult , the bands are on a slight angle . . If you note my thumb is in middle of the fork and in the fork window . It makes a super sight and is my POA easy and the bearing will not hit my thumb .
