Took my 50 cal GRRW Leman to the range yesterday to meet some of my BP shooting friend. First time I have shot this gun. Had a great time. This target was shot off the bags at 25 yards. I then went to ringin steel off hand at 50 and 100 yards. Took a couple of times at the 100 yard range but did mange to hit the 10 inch gong. No fence to lean on there. Gun shoots very well in my opinion. Theres to different loads shot at this target but not to much difference in impact. Was using 50 gr of 3fg Goex and 60 gr of Swiss 1 1/2 fg. Maybe I should mention GRRW is Green River Rifle Works. Roosevelt Utah. Gun is about 50 years old but in like new condition. Failed to get a pic of the gun but will try next time

Love it! Nice shooting, BigAl. Be great to see another pic of that rifle, if you get a chance. Been seriously thinking of taking the BP plunge, again. It wasn't just mountain men, by the way. A lot of aristocratic women in high society enjoyed games of shooting in the muzzle loading days.

Boy Tom I have no idea at all. I own a Chrony but Im to lazy to set one up. I bet I havent used mine 3 times since I owned it. Kind of a time factor thing. Id rather be sending balls sooner down range

Here you go NCG just took one on the patio just for you. Hope you get back into it. If there is any enabling to be done I can help for sure. Ive seen some nice Senecas and Cherokee's for sale. but dont overlook the little 32 caliber Traditions Crockett. Good little rifle to start with.

Whatever the 490 Hornady balls are dont remember. Think there in the 180 range maybe.

When the smoke cleared, Al, bet you had a fine smile seeing your results. Very nice shooting, and yeah, for the first time smokin' that rifle! Don't recall if you before mentioned, is yours an Indian or trade rifle? Trying to look over differences in web images, it's hard to tell which is which.
