Tula steel cased ammo

Post by rfkhunter » Tue Jun 21, 2016 9:17 am

Well never again will I use this ammo. Split case in my brand new Henry 357. Jammed it pretty good. I bought it from the dealer when I bought the gun just so i could shoot right away. I ordered brass rounds online, the dealers price was ridiculous $28 for 50 rds.

I've shot tons of this stuff in 223 in my AR with no issues at all. I'm waiting to hear from Tula. Left them a message on Facebook and their CS voice mail

I've used Tula in 9mm and .40 handguns with no issues. I've also shot lots of Wolf .223, also with no problems at all. Have never tried any steel cased .357.

I was the lucky winner of a factory defect! The only warning I read in the Henry manual was to not use Blazer or any other aluminum case rds. So I figured I'd use it.

Probably 1 round ruptured didn't do any harm. I have stayed clear of steel cased ammo being fired in any of my guns.

My first experience with steel in ammo was Wolf brand in 40 S&W. I shot a thousand rounds of it in a S&W Sigma. The bullets were brass plated steel. The rifling in that Sigma were the roughest I had ever had in a hand gun. After firing that thousand rounds The rifling was nearly gone, looked like a smooth bore.

So, no more steel of any kind in my guns. I don't like the idea of steel casing slamming into my steel chambers either.

I don't think I have ever used steel case knowingly. I tried the aluminum cased blazer once.......................and only once.

I'd be interested in hearing their response, if any. Please share it with us.
