Both singleshot rimfire rifles that I posted about recently made it to the range today. So did two shooters. My neighbor Miss Evelyn and I shot for just over an hour today.

We each shot both rifles benchrest at 50 yards. I had to zero the Marlin after I glued the scope together. Turned out it was perfectly zeroed.

Here Miss Evelyn shoots the scoped Marlin. I hadn’t noticed till I took this picture but her eye relief was much to long. After she snuggled closer to the scope her groups got a lot smaller.

After putting out fresh targets we each shot ten rounds with each rifle.

My target with the Marlin.

While Miss Evelyn shot this with the Springfield. We were shooting at 50 yards not 100.

Then my turn with the Springfield. This was a real disappointment. I had no expectations with the Marlin but I did with this one.

And Miss Evelyn’s final target with the Marlin.

We both didn’t shoot very well but she thought we did great and I didn’t say anything. She really liked shooting the rimfire. There were several others also shooting big bangers and she didn’t like that.

Good to see range reports from you again. Tell Miss Evelyn Howdy for me.

Same, here. Nice to see you both out shooting. Just like old times. I see that coffee is well-represented, as usual. Wouldn't be a Sir Henry range report, otherwise.

I wouldn't worry too much about group size. Having a less than great day is all part of the shooting game and it's not always us, either. Lots of other variables involved. The real gold, here, is that Evelyn thought you did great. She'll be ready for another range trip, soon.

Good to see you out Gene and Im sure having someone to go with makes it that more enjoyable. Doesnt matter how you shoot just as long as you had fun.

.22 plinking always a fun time! Have you tried the CCI 22LR Quiets? Those are a great choice for Sunday afternoon plinking with no ear plugs needed and shoot well out to 50 yds.

Yes I have tried them.
