Noisy Christmas Day

Went to the farm today to hunt the morning and hang with my brother and his family for a bit. They were admiring my Henry BBB .45 Colt and.the NM Blackhawk so we grabbed some cans and went shootin. The Henry performed beautiful as usual flipping cans in all directions. The BH was a joy to shoot. We punched quite a few holes in cans. I'm not any gun hand but that gun sure shoots nice.
We set cans up at about 10 yards. My nephew was first to shoot. He hit 3 of 6 shots. Then my brother hit alot of dirt and a can or two. I shot third and was able to get two hits right away then three misses and one hit. We shot up all the ammo I had, about 100 rounds. By the time we quit we had all managed to hit six of six at least once. I'm looking forward to practicing with it.

Nice way to spend Christmas day. I sure you will remember that for a long time. 45 colt is a great caliber.

I've said it before: My Henry BB steel in .45 Colt is my favorite rifle to load for and shoot. Hands down.

Sounds like a good time indeed.
The SIL, and a friend and i were shooting the 45 Vaquero Christmas Eve eve.
Yes the 45's are a hoot, my rifle is a Marlin Cowboy though.

I wish we could do that in the Netherlands, just visiting family or friends and go shooting.
Shooting any gun outside an official shooting range is not allowed in the Netherlands.
Fortunately we have a shooting range not to far away where one of my sons, my son in law and I can shoot our pistols an rifles every monday evening.

There is an outdoor range not too far from my house that I can go to on my day off. Christmas day was special because I could hoot with my brother and his son.

Lord have mercy, couldn't imagine having to go to a range every single time I want to shoot.
Lucky and spoiled here as I can literally shoot in my back yard and do quite a bit.
Also have a large farm that is next to me that I have permission to hunt and shoot on.

Yeah, tomorrow is range day. I bought my grandnephew a new "Cricket" .22 rifle and my sister a Rock Island Armory Model 206 .38 special snub nose revolver. I am going to shoot my new Henry BBS Carbine in .357. this will be their first firearm. Can't wait. It has been a 2nd amendment Christmas for sure.
