Dusted off my Russian .45 Colt revolver

I know that I've spent a lot of range time this fall shooting my black powder Trapper pistol; just didn't realize how much time the Russian top-break sat idle. I just checked my shooting log, and the last time I shot it was on August 15th!! Decided to fix that neglect today.

Two days before Christmas and had a beautiful, sunny, 60*-day at the nearby Parma Woods range. Not overly busy either. The hunting folk are about done, so that is freeing up the booths once again. I shot my Choice 200gr RNFP Cowboy Action ammo, off hand, one-handed. Not as much smoke as black powder, but respectable enough. With the 4-month hiatus I wondered how I'd shoot it. It wasn't too disastrous, but not really anything to write home about. ;)

I'm consistently consistent. Both my targets were very similar. I cropped one target to show how I still shoot left of bull. Do the very same with my Trapper pistol. One of these days I will get centered.

Glad I got out today. Almost forgot how much fun it is to shoot this S/A six-gun. And it might be the last chance to get to the range this year!

Thanks for looking.

That is indeed a fine looking revolver. Shoots pretty good, I'd say.
