October 13th, 1860

Post by RanchRoper » Sun Oct 13, 2019 3:54 pm

Started out with the range all to myself today. Took my 1860 Henry and 24 rounds; 2 barrels full. Shooting some reloads, 200 gr LRNFP and 6.7 gn Universal. I has just finished shooting and was packing up when the guy who used to be on the show "Mantracker" drove in, and I guess there was a bunch of kids showing up for some range event today and they had it booked for the afternoon. If you have seen his show, he tracks contestants through all kinds of remote areas to see if he can catch them before they get to the finish line miles away. He's on horseback and they are on foot. Chatted with him for a minute and he seemed like an ok guy.
Anyhow, I was done but a couple of guys who had just finished setting up sandbags, chronos, and all their gear weren't to happy I'm sure to have to pack up and go...

Temps in the low 40's, and no wind. Some 50 yd work today only.

50 yds off hand standing. 12 rounds. I don't shoot standing much and I am trying to do more of it just because it takes me out of my comfort zone.

kudos for your shooting and being able to express joy at shooting in 40 degree temps .. :? .. my days of shooting from a kneeling position ended years and years before finally reaching the point where I had to have my left knee replaced .. .. remarkable, simply remarkable

Hey All,

I liked watching mantracker. Was it old mantracker or young mantracker. Too lazy to look up names...

Never heard of man tracker, but we don't watch much TV.

That is still some good work offhand, RR. I especially appreciate your idea about stretching your comfort zone. That's the spirit.
