Ruger Wrangler

I bought a Ruger Wrangler the other day. Found it online for $179.99, with free shipping. After a $25 fee at my ffl, I was out a total of 204.99. Not bad for a brand new Ruger.
Out of the box, it looked really nice, with no obvious cosmetic defects. Everything was pretty stiff at first, but the trigger and loading gate smoothed out a lot after a few hundred rounds. So far, I like it a lot. Seems as though it’s a good companion for a Henry .22.

I'll be getting at least one when they are finally available here, hopefully mid December. Worst part of ordering online here is the fees, $45-50 FFL and another $10 to state police for the background check. Makes getting anything online cost prohibitive unless it's really a smoking deal.
They have a wrangler at the local indoor range, I've handled it...but didn't feel like spending $10 plus buying ammo from the shop (requirement for renting guns) in order to try it out.

I picked one of those up a few weeks ago. I had it out Saturday. I was a little bit surprised how well it did. Sights were right on at 15 yards. Did okay at 50 yards.
My Wife liked it a lot. She hadn't been shooting in 20+ years. As we were leaving She mentioned that She was game for another trip to the range whenever I was.
The "range" for me is BLM land out in the hills of the desert.

Been considering one, but might go for the single 10 when I can afford it. Not as traditional, but personally like the idea of fibre optic/adjustable front and rear sights. Probably gonna be $300.00 to $400.00 more than the Wrangler. Have not ruled out the Wrangler yet though.

Ruger makes great guns and I own a couple of them. I have an old 10/22 and a Mini 14. Lately though I have been disappointed in a couple I have handled. First, my brother bought a new 10/22 and I was bummed at all the plastic parts. My 10/22 has all steel parts including the trigger guard. Of course I bought it in 1977. Then I was looking at the new Wrangler and again, I was disappointed when I found out that opening the loading gate lets the cylinder freewheel, no indexing at all, it just sounds so wrong on a single action gun. Then the dealer told me that the grip frame was made of zinc alloy; I could handle aluminum alloy, but not zinc. Talk about going ultra cheap. Nope, I'll pass thank you.

Interesting info...thanks. I'm leaning toward holding out for the single 10.
Can't complain too much about the Wrangler though given the price point...Most of the time, Ya get what you pay for.

Ya Mags, the cerakote offerings ARE kinda cool, especially for a .22 revolver for under $200.00.
Probably only, ever gonna buy one .22 single action though. That's why I might hold out for the single 10, or even 6 for now. I do like the idea of 10 though.

I think I would hold out for the 10 too. I have a S&W 6 and seems like I always need to reload before I'm done pulling the trigger.

Thanks for your opinion, money is tight and just want to be happy with my decision because it may only happen once.

I have both the Single Six and Single Ten and with adjustable sights and 4 extra rnds I would say the Single Ten is my favorite as well.

Uberti has a 12. I have one and really like it. I also own the single six with the mag cylinder. I like shooting the Uberti with 12 rounds.

OP must be a mind reader. Just yesterday I was in the Ruger website looking at the Wranglers. I need to get my head examined because all I do is surf the net for guns...
