Finally got around to borrowing a neighbors chronograph and getting some numbers on Hornady 190gr LeveRevolution and Underwood 210gr XTP. My intial thumb estimates were off by quite a bit, which I suspected. Here's the data:

Gunny you have the carbine right?
Your results were similar to those 265 gr I shot last week.
Mines the rifle, and also scoped. ;)

Yep. Bullet weights and G1 BC's are per the Hornady spec., and barrel length per Henry. Or are you talking about my 2nd group compared to yours? ;)

Gunny...what are you using to gather all the ballistic data from the velocity?
Lots of good tech data there! Great shooting too!

Used a friends basic Crony to get raw numbers. It doesn't have any built in software, so pencil and paper. I crunch the accumulated mv numbers with an on-line Stats Calc. https://www.calculator.net/statistics-calculator.html It's simple and accurate. You should pay attention to the Sample Std Dev. if you're comparing ammo lots or brands. 5 shots is a decent sample size for most purposes, as a balance between cost and the slightly more precise data you'd get with a larger sample size. This exercise cost me about $10.

The ballistic data (mean of the group from the above) for range charts go in the Hornady on-line calc https://www.hornady.com/team-hornady/ba ... lculators/#!/ . G1 coefficent, and bullet weights come from the Hornady site for both the 190gr, and the 210gr XTP bullets (not the cartridges). Underwood buys their XTP bullets from Hornady, then loads them in new Starline brass.
