Marlin AWL back to shooting

Post by bandit1250 » Mon May 30, 2016 11:30 am

The 39 AWL I did the checkering over for my wife is now back together to be used to go shooting again. I shot from my porch before the wind started to stir much. This rifle has a bead to big for me but kind of suits my wife and that is who it belongs to. I would like to get her in to using a globe front and adjustable aperture. Since a lot of my fellow members seem to think I shoot good this may not look so great. I shot these at 25 yds. shooting over my shoulder with a mirror. ;) :D I wish I could. Really these were shot off bags as usual. This rifle has never really been tested on paper with different ammo. It seems to want to throw the first round a little higher than the rest of the shots. Does that with lot# changes. The Tac seems to be not as bad between lot changes as the CCI Standard. I can scope it to try different ammo but really don't want a scope mount on it to mar the matte finish on the receiver. I will see which way she decides she wants to shoot her 39 AWL when we get to go to the range soon. This is her "Baby" and it is not one she will use a lot any way. Need to try some other brands of standard velocity ammo. The rifle with Williams FP sight.

Targets are 6 shots except the right target the center and bottom triangle only has 5.

Good report on the gun and the ammo, Bandit. Thanks. And, as usual, your shooting is for me to dream about.
