75F and sunshine. Time for some frontier fun. 1 target today, shooting 50 yards, open sights with my Henry 1860 rifle in 45 Colt. Shooting from 1 knee as I often do, the way I expect many a-buffalo were taken back in the days before the wire.

Today's objective was some shot placement. Try to put them in the 4" bullseye obviously, but also a ring around the bullseye as well. Some pressure! Not too bad I think, the round at the left went a little wide, but the others are close to where I wanted to put them. Wind a little out of the southwest, maybe 15mph. Just cleaned the rifle last week, so it shot great.

24 rounds of 250gr LRNFP, 6.6gn of Universal. Some of my March '19 reloads.

Awesome shooting RR. I know that had to be fun. Truly, shooting to be very proud of!! Thanks for sharing.

ps...I had to take the stock cover off. I have tried a couple of them now and just find them too bulky. I love the look, but I also like the rifle as is too. But for shooting, nothing shoulders as well as the plain crescent stock for me. Good to know so I won't bother with one for the 1885 high wall when it comes. They look cool, but I have to be able to shoulder and shoot.

It appears he would do well with dimes Al!

Im sure he would RR is a great shot I just like to put a little pressure on him just to have some fun with him.

That's a great target, RR. You should frame and hang it the wall. Really.

I would vote for a framed wall hanging, too, although with your consistent shooting you'll quickly run out of wall space. I'd say that one "leftie" POI was caused by a burst of wind at 50 yards, which you had no way to know it was coming.

Cool that you've found that crescent butt stock, sans cover, works so well for you. Great-looking stock 1860 Henry.

innovative targeting --- nicely fired .... any comments as to, deliberate differences other than those directly related to firing a rifle and revolver .... example breathing and rate of fire

As always, I shoot my best when I just shoot. If I hesitate to second guess myself it never generates the best result.

Just shoot.

Must of done a lot shooting. Rifle muzzle so hot it burning hole in your scabbard!
