The smoke cleared away so I made some of my own today at the range....
My 1860 Henry in 45 Colt. Ammo is my reloads, 7.0 gn of Universal with a 200 gr LRNFP bullet. Punchy little round for sure. Took a box of 50 to the range with me. Open sights.
50 yds shooting from 1 knee, which has evolved into my shooting position most of the time now. 2 targets, 12 rounds on each target. No wind to speak of, so if I do my part, the rifle does too.
100 yds from 1 knee too, the rest of the rounds. Starting to get it figured out at longer distances. Ladder sight up and on first notch.

nice .... I know you've loaded 2 different weight bullets .... 200 gr and I believe 250 gr .... just curious as to what difference (if any) it makes in your sighting at longer distances

I don't sight any different than normal with either bullet. At 50 yds, the POI you want will sit exactly on top of the front blade sight. Exactly dead center on top of the blade. At 100 yds, the paper is so small it is very difficult to be precise. But with 12 rounds in the 4" ring of a 12" target at 100 yds, I was ok with that today. I really don't see or feel much difference in the 200 or 250 grain lead. I believe the 250 gr will shoot better in my 1885 High Wall but we'll see.

my ooooops .... they were lost when I tried to rotate them for you .... like I said, the inserting your avatar .... did some weird things but I didn't realize it would delete the targets .... you should be able to edit your post and put them back

Now if you could just delete my targets.
Good solid shooting RR. Glad the reloads are working out for you.
