Some pics from Tom's outing yesterday. I'll let him fill in the story. Looks like 357 and 45 Colt Day!

Once I got set-up, I shot the .45 Colt[all paper targets] at 50 yards, factory sights. I'm pretty happy with that load for my plinking purposes. But, the BB brass in .357 stole the show. I was shooting at the far berm, about 90-100 yards back and hitting broken clay pigeon bits with ease. Those Missouri coated LRNFP 158's and 12.0gr 2400 were the ticket. Having the Weaver 1-3x20mm scope really helps tho. Which btw, is on sale at Natchez.com for $139.99. Can't beat that.
More range shooting next week. My 30-30 needs it! Thanks a ton Evan!

Good to see you are out shooting, I really like the 200 gr LRNFP lead myself. Well done.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Oh, yeah, I do understand about how even a low power scope can help when ranges start to get into that 100 yard category. Nice shooting.

Thanks folks, it's appreciated. A couple things. RR, I'm leaning towards those 200gr RNFP also. A little less expensive and basically the same load. Not a big game hunter any longer, just a plinker, so, those will be my next purchase.
As to the scope, my aging eyes just about demand it, but, I'm trying to stay away from scoping my .45. We shall see.
As the .45 Colt is a lighter I MAY try the Weaver on it and put Skinners on the .357. One thing is certain, I really like my loads for these two rifles. More to come!

A little late, sorry. Thanks all. The .357 mag load and my .45 Colt load of 8.0gr Unique/250gr LRNFP is pretty much all I've shot out of those rifles. The .357 is locked in. The .45, I think, may need a scope just to actually see my full target. Then, I may put improved peeps on it. Still pondering that one. More range time needed.

I am growing quite fond of the 200 gr lead. Nice to shoot and still packs a punch on the receiving end.

Totally agree RR. Those are my next purchase. I can find those locally, so that sure makes it easier. Going to the range in a couple days.
