Took in an orphan

Post by daytime dave » Wed May 15, 2019 7:23 pm

I don't like to see Henry orphans in gun shops. When I'm out and about, I rarely, if ever see a used Henry. I had just gotten a bunch of .357 revolvers and now, I didn't have a Henry .357 rifle. I found a gun shop I'd never been to. It was a nice place and well run. A Henry .357 steel carbine was used, alone and in need of a new home.

It got one.

I took it to the range and sighted it in. It's on if I do my part.

I think that was 25 yds. It translated out to the same plate size at 100 yds, but not as tight a group standing, unsupported. I was shooting 158 grain JSP .357 magnums.

Good save Dave. You will get a kick out of that rifle. I enjoy the heck out of mine.
Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

You have a big heart, Dave. Yeah, I've been considering bring home more orphans like that, too.

:D Well, if you ever need to "move" that orphan to another home, I can make sure there is a room of its own at my house.

Nice job on making sure it is comfortable!

My home might be a better place, my BBS 357 needs a play mate. Carbine would play well with my 20"...
