A Iittle chilly but the sun warmed things up.
I dialed in my 45-70 and got some chrono reading
First time using the Magnetometrer
It was easy to follow the directions and get results.

350g Barry's plated, 16g Trailboss, Starline, LRP
1051, 1084, 1107, 1117, 982

Did a little work with my BBB but it jammed open and couldn't fix it there.
Have yet to take apart to see what's wrong.

I maade some 35rem reloads using 158 Berry's plated, and 220 Speer fnsp.
Clocked the 220
220g Speer fnsp, 28.3 H4895, Hornady, LRP
1365, 1458, 1436, 1426, 1441.

I also got some solid sight settings for the 45-70 and the Marlin Mountie 22lr.

nice report .... it never ceases to surprise me at how one can get several consistent reading and then one odd reading will slip in .... looking forward to hearing the cause of the jam

The bolt was hanging up on the hammer.
The hammer wouldn't cock.
Took out the bolt.
Cocked the hammer.
Put back the bolt.
Can't duplicate the malfunction.
Have to keep an eye on it.

Interesting jam .... I'm trying to figure out how the bolt could shift enough to cause that ..

I'd shot the 125g fn and 158g RN plated Barry's at swingers and had saved 5 rds each to chrono.
That's when the problem happened.
I was hitting 50 meter 1/2 size pigs with 125s and hitting the 100 meter 1/2 size Rams with 158s.
So those are viable for Pistol cartridge.

I wasn't working the lever correctly for one thing I was going slow and not with the needed authority.
At the range I thought I let a round slip under the lifter some how.
Didn't see the hammer issue until just now.

I loaded some 357 158 plated Barry's for 35rem with H4895. They get out t by are on the Chicken swingers.

Oh yeah it gosh awful muddy. You can see the standing water in the field.

understood on working the lever .... been there and hopefully I've learned that lesson ....

Beautiful setting, mud aside. Thanks for the report! GLad you got your "stuck gun" issue figured out. Gotta work that lever!

That valley in the muzzle velocity make me wonder if I could get a more even spread by filling the case.
I still have some room in the case a grain or two. I'll have to measure. There still room for more velocity, trying to keep it sub-sonic.
I forgot to mention that I took the Kick-ezz pad off my 1895 and i didn't even notice.
