Batting 1000
I got my new gun today and I'm batting 1000. Range 1 had a 25 minute wait that would have made me late for work. Range 2 closed to the public for ccw qualifying.

It's a bit of a haul but come out here and shoot...the whole range to yourself if you don't mind the cold and 70mph winds...
Nice pistol by the way...

Re: Batting 1000
So I finally went to shoot my new pistol, aaannnnndddd I sucked. My shots were horrible and I left very frustrated, almost to tears. The gun itself shot well zero problems! I'm able to rack the slide with ease, pick up on my front sight quickly. I was only able to get 58 shots in but it to be tested. I just have to practice dry firing and getting comfortable with it before I can carry it out.
This is the only gun I am getting with my refund money, I'm using the shotgun money I was saving to get the little man a big boy bed. I can always save and research more on a good hunting shotgun.

Hey, Dahlia, hang in there. That's a small carry size semi, not a target pistol. I always have to work more to get tuned in to shooting a small pistol like that, compared to a larger gun. By all means, do some dry fire work and do a little experimenting with your grip. You'll get there.

Re: Batting 1000
I've been away from it for a good while but back when I was an instructor with NC's prison system the data I remember is most self defense shooting takes place at 7 ft or less .... my suggestion is to begin practicing at 5 ft (or less) .... once you get comfortable there, gradually move backNorth Country Gal wrote:Hey, Dahlia, hang in there. Re: Batting 1000
Alot of frustration came from me having to load the magazines, in December I pinched a nerve in my neck that has left me numb in 6 fingers, (both thumbs, index, and middle) there are other problems that I am currently working on in Physical therapy to fix too. Fine motor skills have taken such a hit. I'm taking it one day at a time but its heart breaking.
As for shooting this was the first time shooting this gun, and it's brand new. I kept it at the 5 mark and pushed it to the 7. Dryfire is the order of the day here.

Hope your recovery is moving along. Be patient. It will improve.
Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.
