This really isn’t a fair comparison as the Henry is a Classic H001 from 1997 and the CZ is a 452-2E American. Both are .22LR and shot Norma MATCH-22 ammo. This is my first Henry and it has north of 20,000 rounds fired. Might be as high as 35,000 as I stopped keeping track at 20K. Both are wearing the same Nikon P-22 scope although one is marked P-Rimfire. It only means it came with turrets for .22WMR and .17HMR. I’m amazed at the accuracy of the turrets. You do need to remember to adjust them. The best Henry target. Not bad until you see the next picture. That flier was not me and was a complete surprise. My best CZ target. This rifle is capable of sub-quarter inch but I sure didn’t get it.

Yes it does. It might have been the coffee as I couldn’t get my heartbeat low enough to shoot between beats.

It felt good to be back in the saddle so to speak. For two years firearms were not part of my life but now they are back. I want to shoot all winter.

Good report and a wonderful comparison.
Seeing the difference between a lever and a bolt from a seasoned shooter is great.

Paper target shooting with lever guns has lost it's appeal to me.
Reactive targets and the sound of a gong are much more satisfying.
One exception is my Sako Finnwolf. I'd like to take it to our club 600 meter benchrest shoot. Just to see.

Ive never been much of a paper shooter either. The sound of ringing steel and seeing clay pigeons explode on a bank is where Im at. Bowling pins swinging are nice to. But to each there own. Thats one reason I like Daves lights there noisy and they blow up really cool

That is what I was doing 20 years ago. But I’m much older now and like to shoot youth rifles.

Nice shooting. I'd say it was the ammunition on that flier, all things considered. I'm glad you got out and shot and got a report and photographs posted.

The main thing, Sir H, is that you had a good day out. The targets - which are great, apart from the fliers - are just a by-product of an enjoyable range trip.

I'll echo what others are saying, here. I actually let out a cheer when I read you want to shoot all winter. Honestly, Gene, you have been sorely missed, around here. Thrilled to have you back and shooting, again.

The results of your range session are not a surprise in that I expected the CZ to perform the way it did (and that is a beautiful 452, by the way), but I learned, long ago, not to get hasty with conclusions when comparing two very different rifles. Not telling you anything you don't already know, of course. For me, my favorite rifles have not always been my most accurate rifles in terms of group sizes they can shoot, but, of course, they must still be accurate enough to be interesting and reward my best efforts. In other words, accuracy is just one part of the overall shooting experience for me. Just my usual long-winded way of saying I think that Henry did just fine.

As to Ojaileveraction's Sako Finnwolf; I have a Sako Finnbear[.270] I used to hunt with. It has always been a favorite and without doubt, my most accurate "big game" rifle I've owned.[But, it isn't a lever gun!]
