Big Boy .45 Colt, and some long range redemption

Had a fun day at the range today. The load is an HSM 255 copper plated flat point over 9.5 gr unique, averaged 1140 fps at 15 feet. Targets at 50 yards. 5 shot groups. The “flyer” on the first target was 1st shot, before a sight correction, then 5 more.
Shot my .308, the “Zombie Slayer” a couple weeks ago, and got beat up pretty bad by range gremlins. It started bad and got worse, ending with the replacement of a few small parts.
I took care of all my issues, and was rewarded with this. My last 14 shots at 1000 yards, 12 hits. Wind nudged 2 shots just off the edge of the target. I wear electronic earmuffs, makes it really cool to hear that clang from that far away. Fun day today.
