First 'serious' day with the new WIlliam's sights on both my Henry and a Winchester. The left target is .357 with 16 grains of 296 wihh 158 gr Hornaday XTPs. A few 'target orientation' shots then getting serious put me in the bullseye at 50 yards. Right before we left I decided to try some 38s loaded with 4 grains of 700X and 125 Grain LSWCs. In honesty I was worried about possible squibs but they all left the barrel and quite accurately! After some orientation the bullseye was easy with three in the ragged hole that is marked! Interestingly The rifle shot point of aim with both loads. Bottom pic is me with my Henry at my 'outdoor range'.

Nice shooting indeed looks great, do you have any closeup pictures on the williams sight mounted on the rifle? I am thinking about getting a peepsight on my Henry BB Allweather 44mag. Got any more info on what sights your using? Like what type of frontsight/height are you using?

Because the Williams mounts on the receiver this places the sight higher above the barrel and necessitates going to a taller front sight as well. I used a 1/2 " tall blade off of a Winchester on mine which is a 1/4" taller than the stock gold bead. I read of many who have sight problems after installing a peep (typically the rife suddenly shoots too high) and the rear peep cannot be lowered enough to bring the group down. I'll get a pic of the front blade up later.

That's some outstanding work with a peep at 50 yards. Be tough to do a lot better with a scope.

Here is the 1/2" blade off of a 1966 Winchester. The nice thing about a blade with a peep is it gives you a 'flat' spot on the top to 'set' your bullseye on - providing that is you sight in at '6 O'Clock' as I do.

The black circle & line represent the aperture & blade - the red is the bullseye setting on top of the blade. This is the sight picture I prefer.

Another, me, too. I use a six o'clock formal my bullseye shooting with iron sights, though I will hold over, as needed, for longer distances, rather than adjust sights.

I use the 6 o'clock like NCG also hold on my paper punchers . You can see white and black in your sights to get a good refinements on sight pic I hope this make sense . Now all my guns I speed shoot like my SASS guns rifle or pistol I use dead on hold .

The revolver seems to be dead on! Nice shooting!

I had 6 vaquero in 44-40 and 2 of them had in 7.5 barrel . Since Ruger never made a sheriff in 44-40 and Ruger never put birdshead grip on 44-40 . So I cut 1 of my 7.5 44-40 down to 3.5 inches and traded birdshead grip off one of my .357 Vaquero to make this gun . This the only Vaquero I have left .
