Went to the range and shot some castbullets with my Smith&Wesson 629 Classic 5" this revolver really has some kick with the modified Nill Grip that arent even intended for this revolver. But it doesnt matter since it looks great There is something about castbullets and a revolver its just feels right.


Shot about 30-40rounds of 44magnum loads with 240grain SWC bullets, Shot at usual 25meter range and ofcourse around minus 10degrees celcius without gloves didnt really improve my precision. But its fun shooting and focus on sightpicture, breathing and triggerpull it really clears my mind.

Not my best serie of my life but given the cold conditions and hot magnumloads in 5" with alot of recoil offhand its pretty decent

Some hot coffee and cookies between the series made my day

25meter Outdoor range and shooting from a unisolated barrack with hatches on each shootingspot. Its room for 30 shooters totally, then we have 50meter and 100meter range also but thats outside without roof. Nice shooting and the range looks really nice. I see you took a page right out of the SH requirements for the shooting range only you added the thermos and cookies. Maybe SH needs the coffee cup and the cookies in his avatar.

I'm looking at getting rid of my 629 in 5". I'm loathe to do it. But I find .44 Magnum is just too much of a good thing.
The vibration from the muzzle energy just dumps into my hand, and find it hard to tolerate.
I've been thinking of maybe reloading with some Trail Boss, because I can handle .44 Specials just fine.
Maybe just a sign that I'm getting old, now that I'm over 50.

all toooooo well understood .... its been a while since I was 50, passed 70 a good while back .... with the onset of arthritis and add being on blood thinners, firing our Redhawk 44 Mag isn't as much fun as it once was .... given my preference, I like to practice with the same ammo I hunt with but that's had to change .... reloading provides us to flexibility in what we shoot
