Water jugs were harmed in the making of this video...

I took the 45-70 out for a romp yesterday. This is a 385gr GT Bullets hollow-point running 1300fps. :D

I think it's safe to say that the water jugs didn't suffer at all ....... in fact, they didn't know what hit 'em! Image

Its funny how the jug came forward and didn't go flying back. The Warren Commission said the same thing about the JFK assignation and that it is possible.

The shot blew the back side of the jug out and the pressure thrust launched it forward. They hardly ever go straight back when I shoot them. More often than not, they go left, right or straight up. I guess it depends on what area of the jug is weakest.

Thanks! 16 grains of Hodgdon Universal gives me 1300 fps over and over across the chronograph. It's very consistent, clean burning, and I doesn't beat you to death. I started at 12.5 grains and worked up until I got to this velocity. I don't see any reason to load anything else for my 45-70 needs.

It's open all year, but the rules change during the summer. You have to stalk close enough for a cool shower when you shoot them. :D
