While working on the 22s and the red dot setups, today, did dust off one of the 1911s. Figured since I was shooting semi-auto with the little Browning, be a good day to go with another semi-auto. Not my best, not my worst, either, with this very easy to shoot STI 1911. Only negative was loading the mags with cold fingers. Forgot about that part. Something to be said for tubular magazines in cold weather. Easier to do with lever guns, too.

I love both 45s and 1911s.
I just have to get back out on the range again.

Have you tried these? Makes mag loading very easy.

+1 on these magazine loaders, they work great! No more sore fingers when doing some serious shooting.

Have seen those in use. Definitely time to order some. Thanks for the tip.

I do ... maybe a little too much. Very easy to go overboard and buy a bunch of 1911s. Trying to hold the line on the four we have, now.

Those work great I have 2 of them. They make one for the AR also and I have one. Can load a 30 round mag in no time. Al

Nice to see the response on 1911s. Maybe I should post on them a bit more. Ordering some of those loaders, today.

They have 2 different loaders for AR mags. I've watched the videos, very neat but I don't shoot my AR enough to justify getting one. Also I find AR mags a lot easier to load than my Beretta mags.

I considered getting an Uplula for my 1911. Clovispup and I have never felt the need, after getting used to loading them. Now my 9mm double stack on the other hand is a bear without using the small metal mag loader that came with the pistol.

My PX4 came with a small one piece loader, the Uplula is much, much better.

I'm down to two1911's(Sig RCS carry and SW1911 target) from a high count of six. Did 20 years in the USN(1974-1994)and the only handgun we used was the 1911A1 and I've been hooked ever since. I actually just sold my Colt Combat Elite 1911 to be able to buy a Henry BBS in .45 Colt.
