Beautiful day today, 55F with a 30 mph wind keeping the bugs down.

My 1860 Henry in 45 Colt. I set up 3 targets side by side on the 50 yard board and cycled through 24 rounds (2 mag tubes) alternating from target to target. Just something a little different than shooting just 1 target like I usually do. Rifle worked flawless as usual. Winchester 250 gr LFN. I shot off hand standing as I always do. The wind was from the NW so I overcompensated on target #2 as you can see, but the other 2 aren't my worst effort. These are 8" targets, and all rounds are in the black so I am pleased with that.

You know, it's not the size of those groups that most impresses me, though they are indeed excellent in that regard. It's the beautiful consistency you get with the groups as in no pulled shots and flyers. To an offhand shooting nut like me, they are a thing of beauty, not to mention being a testament to your skill and familiarity with that rifle. RR, you have a fan in me.

Coming from you NCG, I take that as a real compliment. Your consistency on the targets you post, airgun, rifle or otherwise, are very inspiring. Thanks!

RR --- I'd agree with NCG's comments about your groups, and why your offhand shooting is stellar. She said there at "no pulled shots and flyers." That's mostly what I hope to see with my offhand shooting. Your group sizes also reflect another good result to me. They look to be POIs that would bring in a harvest, e.g. deer, elk, maybe even buffalo somewhere on the Canadian range! Seriously, that's what I often look for when shooting my Henry rifles.

I like being a offhand shooting nut, too. It's the way I shoot best, and enjoy the most. Plus NCG gave it a cool description when she said your target results are "a thing of beauty." Keep it up...you are doing a great job with that 1860 Henry!

Shooting in the wind is normal around here, we rarely have no wind. It gets on some folks nerves but I guess I'm used to it. Actually it's quite still tonight though. If it wasn't getting dark already I'd go to the range....
