Just a very simple report tonight. 1 plain sheet of cardboard and 1 goal. 24 rounds in as tight a group as I can at 50 yards. Off hand standing. Open factory sights. Black Hills 45 Colt ammo. 250 gr LFN.

92F with a slight breeze. Rifle shot great and this ammo is pretty smooth too.

Simple range report.....superb off hand shooting!
Agreed that the Black HIlls is good ammo, too.

That's right there with anything I can do with open sights, but thanks for the nice comment, Henry. Really is a target that I'd be proud to claim. Nice work, RR.

With open sights that is SUPER ..

How fast's is that ammo ...........

Velocity I'm not sure. I'd guess about 1100 fps out of my rifle. But that's a guess. Does that sound right??? It is very smooth to cycle.

It's funny, I thought to myself before I fired the first shot that I have to try to "set the bar" for the rest of the shots.My very first hole in the paper was the one right below the "4" that I wrote on later. It's just about dead center of the paper.
All the rest were trying to hit the same mark, why is it so difficult???? Every shot after that was low. I think the one dead center psyched me out. Although the groups were close in spots, they were not where I wanted them!!!!!

The 1860 , 1866 , and 1873 with a straight wall case is the smooth action made . There is no firearm that can beat it or come near it .
P.S. the more you use it the smoother it will get ....
